RoomieHub is a free-to-use roommate management solution designed specifically for college students. The app combines expense tracking and chore management into one simple platform to make roommate life easier. RoomieHub aims to reduce the stress of college life by simplifying the management of shared living spaces.

Role Description

We're seeking a creative, user-focused, and detail-oriented User Experience (UX) Designer to enhance and refine the mobile app and website experience for RoomieHub. In this role, you will work on improving current designs and designing new features to ensure a seamless, engaging, and intuitive user journey. Your contributions will directly impact how students manage shared living spaces effectively.

Job Type

This internship is part-time, hybrid, and unpaid. Excellent for students pursuing or recently completed a degree in User Experience or related field.

Responsibilities

• UI/UX Design: Design intuitive, accessible, and visually appealing interfaces for both the mobile app and website.
• Wire-framing & Prototyping: Develop wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to visualize user interactions and test usability.
• UX Research & User Insights: Conduct user research, gather feedback, and analyze data to inform design decisions.
• Iterative Design & Testing: Improve existing features through continuous user feedback, A/B testing, and usability studies.
• New Feature Development: Collaborate with the product and development teams to design and implement innovative features that enhance the user experience.
• Design System & Consistency: Maintain and refine a design system that ensures brand consistency across all platforms.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with developers, product managers, and marketing to align design with business goals.

• Passionate about user-centered design and solving real-world problems through intuitive UX.
• Experienced in designing both mobile and web applications with a strong portfolio showcasing past work.
• Skilled in Figma.
• Knowledgeable in UX principles, usability best practices, and interaction design.
• Detail-oriented with a strong ability to create designs that balance aesthetics and functionality.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative environment with a startup mindset.

• Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG).
• A passion for improving student living experiences.
• Experience working on social or community-based platforms.
