Compensation: $250k - $350k / year + bonus

Position Overview:

We are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Sports Medicine Surgeon with strong experience in arthroscopic and open shoulder procedures, including total shoulders. The role is ideal for a surgeon who thrives in the OR while also valuing continuity of care through outpatient management, team collaboration, and active patient follow-up.

This is a surgically intensive role, complemented by clinic-based pre-op/post-op care and long-term patient management. The incoming physician will join a highly regarded, collaborative orthopedic practice with APP support and a strong referral base.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Surgical Focus: Perform a range of sports-related orthopedic surgeries with an emphasis on shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, labral repairs, and total shoulder replacements.
• Clinical Oversight: Manage both pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-ups to ensure optimal outcomes.
• APP Collaboration: Partner with a dedicated and experienced PA to assist with clinic, documentation, patient triage, and post-op recovery oversight.
• Patient Mix: Treat a broad range of athletic and active individuals with shoulder, knee, and joint concerns—both surgical and non-surgical.
• Team Coordination: Work closely with a multidisciplinary care team, including physical therapists, athletic trainers, and other orthopedic subspecialists.
• Procedures & Diagnostics: Perform injections, interpret imaging, and utilize ultrasound-guided interventions as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Surgical expertise in total shoulder arthroplasty and high-volume arthroscopic procedures
• Team-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to patient care
• Comfortable managing surgical volume while maintaining excellent clinical outcomes and documentation
• Dedicated to staying current with emerging surgical techniques and continuing education

Qualifications:

• MD or DO licensed (or eligible) in Arizona
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency
• Fellowship in Sports Medicine or Shoulder/Elbow Surgery preferred
• Board Certified/Board Eligible
