CLINICAL HOSPITAL PHARMACIST JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is in the Inpatient Pharmacy Department. The Night Shift Inpatient Operations Pharmacist will work under the supervision of the Inpatient Assistant Director and is responsible for the night shift operations of the Inpatient pharmacy including, but not limited to managing day-to-day staffing and workflow, assigning daily duties, maintaining Inpatient pharmacy compliance standards, and act as liaison between staff and supervisor. In addition to the operations duties, he/she will provide a comprehensive pharmacy and medication management service to patients and ensure a consistent level of service in accordance with TCRHCC policies as a front-line pharmacist. Direct patient care and services are provided to pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric, oncology, and obstetric patients. Incumbent serves as a dedicated front-line pharmacist providing pharmacy services while coordinating day-to-day operations in Inpatient pharmacy and providing technical and administrative guidance to professional and non-professional employees i.e. Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians/Trainees, Pharmacy Aides, and Pharmacy Billers. This position is assigned to the night shift, but the Pharmacist may be assigned a shift to cover staffing deficits. Incumbent has the opportunity for career advancement through tier levels as determined by pharmacy experience and involvement.

Schedule: 7 on/ 7 off; 8pm-8am

CLINICAL HOSPITAL PHARMACIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Maintain current knowledge of drugs, their composition, actions, uses, toxic effect, dosage, availability and distribution.
*Ability to prepare sterile solutions.
*Familiarity with Federal and State laws regulating the profession of pharmacy and handling of drugs.
*Superior ability to work tactfully with patients, public, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team, and skillfully supervise daily workflow and personnel.
*Ability to demonstrate initiative, and problem identification and solving skills.
*Excellent written and verbal skills for teaching, presentations and persuasion. *Demonstrated organizational skills.
*Knowledge of pathophysiology and disease states required to evaluate complex therapeutic issues and to monitor and advise on drug therapy.
*Familiar with unit dose, IV admixtures, computer skills, technical and clinical pharmacy practice

CLINICAL HOSPITAL PHARMACIST REQUIREMENTS:

*Valid Unrestricted AZ State Pharmacist License (due to urgent need, outside of state practitioners will be considered) - REQUIRED
*3+ Years experience in acute hospital pharmacy setting - REQUIRED
*BLS/ACLS - REQUIRED
