OBJECTIVE:
Under administrative direction of the Library Director, the Operations Manager is responsible for the coordination of maintenance of the library buildings, grounds and equipment, supervision of the building maintenance technician and custodial staff, and managing vendor and contractor relationships.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Library Director
Supervises: Building Maintenance Technician, Custodial Staff
Has regular work contacts with library staff and management, city staff, vendors, contractors and the general public.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment. An individual in this position is frequently involved in active and sedentary work. This position regularly walks, stands, stoops, kneels, crouches and exerts up to 50 pounds of force by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects. The employee is frequently required to see/observe, talk/speak and listen/hear; use their hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects and equipment. The employee may be required to climb or balance in unusual situations.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers and various pieces of equipment. Employee is required to use cognitive ability to reason, analyze and verbalize thoughts and ideas. Requires the ability to recognize and identify similarities or differences between characteristics of colors, shapes and sounds associated with job-related objects, materials or tasks.
The employee will spend the majority of the working day inside or outside and speaking with other employees or members of the public. The position requires occasional contact with dirt, dust, noise, fumes, odors, vibrations, heat, cold, wetness and humidity. In rare occasions, exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards, sudden temperature changes, darkness, fire hazards, chemical hazards, and explosives, heights above 10 feet, injury or traffic may occur. Employee must be aware of the need to create a safe work environment when working on projects around staff or patrons.
A regular Monday-Friday, 40-hour work schedule is required for this position. Occasionally, this position will be required to work after hours and on weekends to respond to facility and operations emergency situations.
