St. Mary’s College of Maryland is accepting résumés for the contingent position of Technical Director of the Nancy R. and Norton T. Dodge Performing Arts Center (DPAC). The Dodge PAC is the College's premier cultural hub not only for the campus community but for the region. The position is responsible for all items related to the technical production of events and programs in the venue and assists with the overall leadership of event operations and quality assurance. Incumbents must have strong communication, organizational, budget, project and contract management ,and planning skills. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and be skilled in training personnel on the operation of technical theater equipment. This is a full-time contingent position that may be eligible for limited benefits.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or a master's degree in technical production, management or design, and must have at least ten years of professional experience in the performing arts field. They must demonstrably possess a broad range of performing arts technical knowledge and understand the craft of lighting and sound engineering, including the work of technical crews and engineers. A strong knowledge of the performing arts technical industry is mandatory. Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required by the production schedule and be able to lift at least 25 pounds. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check. The salary range is $75k to 80k, depending on qualifications and experience.
