About KWES-TV KWES-TV is seeking a dedicated Sports Anchor with strong Multi-Skilled Journalist skills to join our team in Midland/Odessa, Texas . As the Sports Anchor/MSJ , you will deliver compelling sports coverage across multiple platforms. Responsibilities Serve as the primary on-air personality for sports news coverage, including anchoring sports segments during newscasts. Research, write, and produce sports stories, features, and packages for on-air and digital platforms. Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches, and sports experts to provide insightful content. Attend sporting events, press conferences, and community events to report on local sports news. Utilize social media and digital tools to engage viewers and promote sports coverage. Collaborate with the news team to develop storytelling techniques and creative sports reporting approaches. Work with producers, photographers, and editors to ensure high-quality sports content and live broadcasts. Stay updated on sports news, trends, and developments in the community and beyond. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field. 2+ years of experience in sports reporting and anchoring, preferably in broadcast news. Strong on-camera presence and storytelling skills. Proficiency in video editing software and multimedia tools. Ability to work under deadlines and adapt to news situations. Knowledge of AP style, journalistic ethics, and media law. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
