Our challenge

We are seeking a skilled Python Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in object-oriented programming, microservices architecture, and SQL databases. Candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications and services that meet the needs of our users and business.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Jersey City, NJ is $115k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance applications using Python.
  • Implement microservices architecture to improve application scalability and maintainability.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices in software development.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications for performance and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain SQL databases, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance development processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Python Developer with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and design patterns.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with web frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django) and RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
