We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll/HRIS Manager to join our client's team. This individual will be responsible for owning and executing all aspects of payroll processing, including weekly, biweekly, and off-cycle payroll runs for both hourly and salaried employees. In addition to payroll, this role will support HRIS administration and help streamline payroll workflows for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:Process accurate and timely payroll on a weekly, biweekly, and off-cycle basis for hourly and salaried employees.
Maintain full ownership of the end-to-end payroll process, including pre- and post-payroll audits, compliance, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
Manage employee deductions, benefit integrations, garnishments, and tax withholdings.
Serve as a point of contact for employee payroll questions and resolve issues promptly.
Assist with payroll-related reporting, including reconciliations and audits.
Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS and payroll systems.
Collaborate with HR and Finance teams on process improvements and cross-functional projects.
Support the development and enhancement of workflows within the HRIS to improve payroll efficiency and accuracy.
Stay up to date on payroll trends, system upgrades, tax implications, and regulatory changes.
4+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience, including experience with hourly and salaried employees.
Solid understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and best practices.
Experience processing multiple pay schedules, including off-cycle runs.
Familiarity with payroll regulations and labor laws.
Experience working with HRIS platforms and payroll software.
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Proficient in Excel and comfortable working with data and reports.
Excellent problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
