Description

This role focuses on designing, specifying, and testing automated modified atmosphere packaging machines and systems, incorporating flexible film tracking, heat sealing, conveying, product handling, and scale technologies. It involves planning, directing, coordinating, and occasionally executing tasks related to the fabrication, operation, application, installation, and repair of mechanical or electromechanical systems. The position thrives in an environment blending development and production expertise.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical design and engineering for new products, custom projects, proposals, and client orders as directed; guide mechanical designers/drafters when needed.
• Leverage Solidworks expertise for design, data storage, and management.
• Apply INFOR CRM knowledge to generate BOMs.
• Execute engineering calculations (e.g., mass/energy balance, load, strength) to support tasks.
• Specify components, materials, instrumentation, instructions, and manual details for new designs and orders, ensuring documentation accuracy.
• Conduct quality and design checks on the production floor, addressing discrepancies with technical input.
• Use Excel for project management, creating macros and formulas to boost efficiency.
• Excel in team settings while remaining self-motivated as needed.
• Contribute to special projects aiding departmental goals and objectives.
