Library Director, Holliston Public Library (Holliston) The Town of Holliston (population 15,000) is seeking applicants for the full time position of Library Director. This is a leadership position that will direct and manage all operations under policy direction of a supportive 6-member Library Board of Trustees and administrative direction of the Town Manager. The Library Director should have proven experience as a leader, be resourceful, energetic and diplomatic with the ability to work collaboratively with an experienced library staff, trustees, Friends, volunteers and town officials. The Director also ensures a safe and welcoming environment for all community members. The Library Director will oversee a staff of 3 full-time and 13 part-time employees, a collection of 70,000 volumes, a 9,000 square foot facility and a budget of $630,908. Some nights and weekends are required. Qualifications The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in library science from an A.L.A. accredited institution and certification from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. The candidate will have five years of administrative and supervisory library experience at a progressively responsible level as well as training in public administration, budgeting and personnel management. Experience with building maintenance and the ability to coordinate with the Facilities Director is required. The successful candidate will be a creative leader who possesses broad experience in managing traditional and evolving library services.
