Job Description

Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. is seeking an Accounts Receivable Manager to join our award-winning engineering design and consulting firm in our Indianapolis North Office. This position will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and receive mentoring from our Accounting Manager. They will be expected to lead our accounts receivable department while also performing assigned duties related to payroll, financial reporting, and other general accounting functions.

Responsibilities

Supervise duties related to accounts receivable including but not limited to:

  • Work in Progress (WIP)
  • Client Invoices
  • Client & Subconsultant Contract Management
  • Client Receipts / Collection Assistance

Supports duties related to the Payroll Process

Supports duties related to the Financials/Closing Process

  • Assist with financial reporting
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing
  • Perform other duties as Assigned

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Required (Master's Degree Preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 Years of Accounting Experience Required - Inclusive of at least 5 Years of Service-Based Revenue Model Accounting Experience Preferred
  • Managerial / Supervisor Experience a plus
  • Understanding of Bookkeeping Practices & Procedures
  • Excellent Organizational Skills and Attention to Detail
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Ability to Follow Verbal and Written Instructions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite {Primarily Microsoft Excel)
